There may have been other days, but today felt like the first to me. In the parks, gardens were alive with the golden colors of daffodils and mini daffodils. Trees sprouted tiny blossoms that herald the coming of green. The sun is out, causing New Yorkers to don their most stylish sunglasses. But more than that is this feeling that the cold gray winter is almost, almost over.

As usual, choosing colors for even this small project was torturous for me - I'm thinking I should really take a color theory class - would that help?
After a few years of living in New York I begin to notice certain patterns - slowly I pick out forms of architecture I love:
This type of building in particular is beautiful to me - it conjures up images of storybooks I read as a child, and inspires me to pick up a paintbrush...

Your embroidery is so sweet. I agonize over colour choices as well. Probably why every time I go to the store I have to pick up yet another range of colours hehe.
Spring has finally sprung here too! Nothing is really growing yet but there is sun and what I think might be called warmth, it's been so long I have forgotten.
The puppy is adorable!
When I get stuck on color choices, I like to check out web sites like this one. They give me lots of inspiration and help me better visualize colors together. :)

I love that embroidery piece! I used the pattern for a chihuahua pillow for a friend, such a great s.s. pattern. I have a hard time choosing colors as well, but I think your choices were perfect!
the bldg. makes me think of a damp evening in France...which is a good thing. I like old architecture too!
Oh my gosh! That is absolutely gorgeous, Flor! I think the colours you choose are lovely.. by the way! Sometimes I think there is SO much choice when it comes to floss.. perhaps none of us ever feel like we've made the right choice.. because there are always 20 more shades we could have used.. and we wonder what THEY might have looked like! But your stitching is wonderful!

I know this post is a week old, but we are having our first spring day here in Oregon and I just wanted to say that I feel the same as you. My whole life seems to be lifted by the sun and birds and blooms!!!!
I think I will have to do some springy stitching this weekend.
