One thing I adore about blogging is this false impression it creates that I finish everything I start. Yep, I even enjoy fooling myself. Ok, since I started blogging the number of projects I've finished has skyrocketed. But so has the number of things I've started and... never come back to.
Take this charming red scarf, which I dug out of my knitting bag. All I had to do was bind it off and weave the ends back in. I was inspired enough to bind it off. Weave ends back in? Not so much. But look, when I take this charming picture of it all rolled up, you guys don't know the difference, right? Neither do I...
Below is an unfinished scarf that was waiting for me in Texas. Yes, I actually leave unfinished projects all over the country now. This one is slow going - see those small needles? Just focus on the nice picture... Now, you've already forgotten it's unfinished, right? Moving on...
I'm so lazy I've knitted 3 mini-scarves for le Carotte and not finished them. People, all I have to do is take a needle, and weave those ends back in.... why... can't... I.... do it?!
On to monkeys... I've got at least 3 unfinished monkeys, half-stuffed and without faces. Could only find one for this photograph. Geez. Help me.
Oh, here's where the real shame begins... my unfinished embroidery piles. I've been working on this flipping cat towel for I don't know how long:
I picked some real craptastic colors that just aren't inspiring me...
Oh, here's a bear my sister sent me in the summer, all I have to do is stuff it... but... I... just... can't...
So, as if I didn't already have enough unfinished projects, I decided to pack brand new ones when I went home for the holidays. Christmassy ones.
Because we all know how appealing Christmas stuff is come January 1.
Maybe I could go with a winter theme on these mittens? Or make one a month and finish next December? Who am I kidding, I am never going to finish them.
Oh no. They're staring at me.

I have a box of unfinished projects as well! At least with blogging they're not entirely wasted: they do look very pretty, and maybe they can inspire others :)
If you only knew how many projects I have collected, started, and not finished over the years - oh well, if their presence is driving you crazy - toss them, recycle them, give them away to some industrious soul, but don't let them make you blue!
*LOL* some lovely unfinished projects there.. I must have about the same again in knitting projets.. I'm a bad knitter..very slow and can really only make scarves and other assorted scarflike objects.
I have 3 lavender rice warm bags on the go but haven't finished them yet and a pile of drawings that were supposed to be paintings but never got that far.... and I dare not mention the amount of blogging that I haven't done.. like christmas presents I still havne't blogged the stuff I got for x-mas... I'm wittering now..
Believe me, you're not the one with this problem. I REALLY have a problem in finishing stuffs... This year I'm trying harder, to make sure I'll finish most of my projects ;.)
I'm so glad you have a pile -- the nice thing with the holiday ones is in the fall, you'll be ahead of the game...right? :) I have a scarf that was going to a Christmas....then Valentine....(2007)...then 2008...well...maybe 09 will be a good year for that scarf.
Haha, yes it's awful but I can relate! I ALWAYS start new projects and rarely get around to finishing most of them. Maybe you can talk someone else into finishing them for you? Okay, maybe that wouldn't work. They look lovely so far though!
Unfinished though they may be, they all seem to sing with possibility. :) Can't wait to see the FO's. :)

Sometimes it is just more fun making things than having them. I'm with joey... get rid of stuff that you aren't ever going to finish. That's what I do...
I soooo feel you! There are many works in progress pictures on my blog that i never showed the final versions of. Not because i forgot to photograph the finished projects, but because i never finished them! See it as a overload of inspiration.
Well, you sure have a sense of humor about it, and now I don't feel so bad about my stuff.
I just thought about something else, maybe I could post about all the crafting material I buy but haven't even started on the projects. So look on the bright side, you've at least started!

I am the queen of unfinished projects. I have an entire bag of stuff that I have put patterns on that haven't been touched since then. My life is an unfinished project..
Here's a possibility,arrange a swap with someone who's talent you admire and finish their UFO's while they finish yours.
Someone who hasn't been staring at these things for month's on end would whip through them.
And you would probably whip through theirs or at least feel obligated to get them done in a hurry to return them.

I had the genius idea last Christmas, of giving my sister her scarf unfinished, along with a knitting lesson. She was really excited about it at the time but I have a feeling she hasn't finished it either :-)
Oh honey, I have a lot of unfinished projects too! I am working on a big crochet granny square blanket, an amigurumi cat and a scarf right now. I am trying to resist the urge to start something else also. I do the same with books. I just finished reading 3 books that I started all at the same time. LOL :)
